Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us.

Shape the future of global trade by expertly navigating complex customs regulations for our clients.

The Opportunity:

The Customs team is dedicated to providing critical trade advisory services, ensuring our clients navigate the complexities of global trade seamlessly. As a Trade Advisory Manager, you will lead a team of customs experts, working directly with clients, our legal department, and operations teams to interpret regulations and develop compliant, efficient trade solutions. You will tackle real-world challenges like optimizing supply chain duty costs, ensuring adherence to evolving import/export laws, and delivering precise legal analysis through memos. This role thrives on intellectual curiosity and a commitment to operational excellence in a rapidly changing regulatory landscape.

You Will:

• Lead and develop a team of Customs Trade Advisors, fostering their growth and expertise.

• Provide expert legal analysis and written advice on complex customs and trade matters, including classification, valuation, origin, and free trade agreements.

• Develop and implement trade compliance strategies that mitigate risk and optimize client supply chains.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Flexport's legal, product, sales, and operations teams to integrate trade advisory into broader client solutions.

• Represent Flexport externally as a subject matter expert, engaging with clients and industry stakeholders.

• Drive continuous improvement in advisory processes and knowledge sharing within the Customs department.

You should have:

• 8+ years of experience in customs and international trade advisory, with a focus on legal analysis and compliance.

• Active U.S. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification.

• Proven experience managing and developing a team of trade professionals.

• Expertise in U.S. import/export regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and free trade agreements.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice.

• A 'compliance first' attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.

You will get:

• The opportunity to shape the future of global trade at a company redefining logistics.

• A culture that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

• Competitive compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Direct impact on client success and Flexport's strategic growth.
