Account Information:
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (hashed). If you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Resume Data:
When you upload a resume, we parse and store its contents (education, experience, skills, etc.) to provide our AI features. This data is associated with your account.
Job Descriptions:
When you paste a job description for matching or tailoring, we process and may store it temporarily to perform the analysis.
Payment Information:
Payments are processed through Flutterwave. We do not store your credit card numbers or bank details. We only retain transaction references and token purchase records.
Usage Data:
We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including features used, token consumption, and general usage patterns.
3 How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve our career copilot features
- To analyse your resume and generate tailored content
- To process token purchases and manage your account balance
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, purchase receipts)
- To respond to your support requests
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the platform
4 AI Processing
Careera AI uses third-party AI services to power features like resume analysis, tailoring, cover letter generation, and skill gap analysis. When you use these features, relevant portions of your data (resume content, job descriptions) are sent to our AI provider for processing.
We do not use your personal data to train AI models. Data sent for AI processing is used solely to generate your requested output.
5 Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- Payment Processor: Transaction data is shared with Flutterwave to process payments.
- AI Provider: Resume and job description content is sent to our AI service provider for processing.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
