description Job Description
The Manufacturing Operator I is responsible for operating and setting up less complex machines and/or supporting more complex machines and assembly, adjustment, and assembly of standard subassemblies and assemblies on electrical equipment and/or supporting non-standard subassemblies and assemblies on electrical equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating automatic and less complex machines in the manufacturing area.
- Supporting the operation of more complex machines in the manufacturing area under close supervision.
- Observing machine operation and ensuring they meet specifications safely and with quality.
- Maintaining records of inspection and execution of manufacturing, safety, and/or quality.
- Using various tools such as impact guns, pneumatic screwdrivers, and drills to perform assembly/assembly of electrical equipment.
- Working under close supervision to assemble from models, samples, or diagrams.
- Observing good cleaning, quality, and safety procedures and maintaining equipment, tools, and the work area clean and organized by performing 5S tasks.
- Lifting 35 pounds with reasonable accommodations as needed.
- Performing other relevant manufacturing tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma required. Preferred: Technical Associate degree.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or similar.
- Technical knowledge of tool usage (e.g. drill).
- Ability to follow basic procedures and plans.
- Basic use of email and simple web pages/forms.
