Golden 1 Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative committed to empowering members and uplifting communities. The DevOps Engineer II leads automation processes for deploying Infrastructure as Code in Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments. Responsibilities include leading infrastructure-as-code development using Terraform, Python, and PowerShell; managing Linux/Kubernetes cluster environments; deploying solutions per change management; supporting development teams on API integration; ensuring system security; identifying technical problems and developing fixes; administering Splunk for query optimization, alerting, and dashboards; building tools to reduce errors; proposing automation solutions; designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines; conducting root cause analysis; creating incident response playbooks; developing automation to reduce toil; analyzing operational metrics; implementing monitoring and alerting; managing container orchestration; designing containerized environments with Docker; creating SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; optimizing monitoring dashboards; implementing GitHub branching strategies; using advanced Terraform and GitLab CI/CD; provisioning metrics in Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana; implementing cloud engineering standards in Azure; operating shared cloud platform services; maintaining documentation and runbooks.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; over 4 years as a DevOps Engineer in medium to large-scale environments; proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and hybrid cloud with Azure and VMware; skilled in Git/GitHub, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, container orchestration (Tanzu, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift); experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ThousandEyes); knowledge of ELK Stack and databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL); strong background in automating infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes; proficiency in monitoring dashboards, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets; experience ensuring infrastructure security, driving automation, collaborating across teams; experience building observability pipelines and advanced Splunk queries; experience implementing Azure-based shared services.
Knowledge/Skills: Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert Certification (required); Kubernetes Administration Certification (required); Linux Certification (desired).
