Core Daily Responsibilities
• Material Handling: Safely operate sit-down or stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and move sensitive solar equipment, ensuring no damage to fragile battery casings or inverter screens.
• Order Fulfillment: Pull specific products e.g., lithium-ion batteries, MPPT charge controllers from warehouse racks to fulfill daily dealer and retail sales orders.
• Loading and Staging: Stage outgoing sales orders on pallets and securely load them onto delivery trucks destined for installation sites or retail branches.
• Inventory Tracking: Verify incoming shipments from manufacturers against purchase orders and assist warehouse staff with periodic physical stock counts.
Safety and Equipment Maintenance:
• Pre-Shift Inspections: Perform daily mechanical and safety checks on the forklift e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes using standardized checklists.
• Battery Charging: Manage the charging and watering of electric forklift batteries in designated safety zones.
• Hazard Management: Ensure warehouse aisles are clear of debris and that heavy batteries are stacked securely to prevent tipping or acid spills.
Key Requirements for Nigerian Operations
• Certification: Valid forklift operator certification from a recognized Nigerian institute, such as the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals NISP.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to endure long hours on the forklift and perform manual warehouse tasks in hot, high-humidity environments.
